Barcelona Half Marathon Terms and Conditions

By ticking the Croí Barcelona Half Marathon Tour 'Terms & Conditions' box you are declaring that you have read & agree to the Terms & Conditions outlined below.

Participation in the Croí 2011 Barcelona Half Marathon Team is subject to acceptance of the Terms and Conditions outlined herein.

Travel
Croí reserves the right to alter the itinerary and dates of travel, should unforeseen circumstances deem this necessary. If for any reason a Marathoner is unable to participate after they have signed on for the challenge, he/she will be liable for the full cost portion of the trip, i.e., €500. Failure to meet the fundraising target in full, as per the payment schedule, will result in non-travel. Participants must be 18 years of age by the departure date. Changes to flights may not always be facilitated and will incur a change fee.

Costs & Payment Schedule
To ensure that Croí secures a minimum of 50% of funds raised (100% above costs), the following fundraising schedule must be strictly adhered to: €250 non-refundable deposit upon signing; and total sponsorship of €1,000 by January 21st 2011. Marathoners should instruct their sponsors/donors to make funds payable to Croí.

Non-Refund Policy
This event is managed in a business-like manner, with pre-determined costs and profit margins. As with any event that has a fairly long lead-in time, there is always the risk of participants canceling. Accordingly: Croí has a non-refund policy, which spreads the risk of any loss over the total number of people who initially commit to participate. This policy is based on the premise that all funds raised/lodged by participants are, in effect, donations to Croí. Should a Marathoner decline/be unable to travel, funds are not transferable to another project & all monies raised must be forwarded to/lodged with Croí. For audit purposes, all sponsorship cards must be returned to Croí, whether they have been used or not; and regardless of whether a Marathoner travels or not. All sponsorship cards must be returned no later than one calendar month after the Marathon.

Fitness & Training
Each Marathoner commits to undertake the necessary training to prepare for this challenge and will seek medical clearance from his/her GP, if required. Croí cannot be held liable for any loss, injury or claim as a result of training and/or participation in the Marathon.

Fundraising Protocol
If you are fundraising through organised events, please contact the Croí office well in advance with proposed details. Some activities require permits and it is in everybody’s interest not to duplicate. If you are organising your own posters or flyers and particularly if you wish to use the Croí logo on this type of promotional material, you must send proofs to the Croí office for approval.
