Croí Friendly Schools

school defibrillator cpr project

Croí, the West of Ireland Cardiac Foundation invites schools all over the West of Ireland to become Croí Friendly!

This initiative aims to raise awareness of how to respond to cardiac emergencies. The Croí Centre for Lifesaving Training provides training for second level teachers and students in the skills necessary to help save a life.

Becoming a ‘Croí Friendly School’ is a simple three step process:
1. Purchase - an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and have a minimum of 6 faculty/staff members trained as AED first-responders for your school.
2. Comply - with the protocols for checking and maintaining your AED.
3. Train - any group of students in your school in the basic skills of CPR and how to deal with choking.
