Funventure is a phenomenon where Fun Run meets Adventure Race. It is a hybrid of Adventure Challenge and Fun Run which embraces all athletic levels. The main theme is having fun in the outdoors while challenging the athlete within. There are lots of athletic experiences available to race enthusiasts but none embrace the enjoyment factor quite like the Funventure experience created by the Connemara Rough Diamond. It is guaranteed to test ones sense of humour, nerve, fitness and resolve.

Funventure is a multi-dimensional mix of biking, running, and a few quirky obstacle courses thrown in for good measure and good humour, designed for those who want an athletic challenge and accessible to those who want to have some fun giving this challenge a go.

The event which is taking place on Saturday 28th August, starting on Lettergesh Beach and finishing in Letterfrack, all in the heart of Connemara, is inviting all those who want to experience an outdoor electrifying athletic experience and a roller coaster of fun to join in and give it a go.

The event course will take from 1.5 – 3.5 hours and will appeal to anyone who likes to have fun in the outdoors.

There’s free camping and parking and it is open to solo athletes or teams at an entry fee of €60 per person. More importantly this event is open to everyone, anyone can take part and no experience of adventure events is required. It’s about having fun.

The Rough Diamond experience continues with prize giving and the surrounding pubs will provide an eclectic mix of music in festival style from traditional to contemporary, catering for all tastes. A charity donation will be made to Croí The West of Ireland Cardiac foundation and chosen charity partner of the event.
