Croí has been dedicated to the development and promotion of community defibrillation schemes across the West of Ireland. Croí provides a unique service in the provision of expert guidance and support in the steps taken to set up defibrillator (AED) projects where people live, work and play.

CROÍ CENTRE FOR LIFESAVING TRAINING- WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT!

Croí is a not-for-profit heart charity. Croí is focused on ensuring that the highest standards are adhered to in promoting best practice in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Training by setting up effective Community Defibrillator (AED) schemes. We believe that this will ultimately result in more lives being saved from Sudden Cardiac Arrest.
The Croí Centre for Lifesaving Training offers advice, training, equipment and support in setting up community defibrillator programs, with some additional distinguishing benefits which are unique to Croí.

Advice on Setting Up

The Croí Centre for Lifesaving Training Team is available to provide expert advice on all aspects of setting up a defibrillator program.
Our telephone support line is open from 09:00hrs to 17:30 hrs Monday to Friday. Information is also available in our dedicated range of brochures which are available upon request.

Croí provides training to individuals and community groups on how to save lives!

Training

Training is provided for a minimum group of 6 persons. Larger groups (in multiples of 6) are also accommodated on request.
We teach you:
♥ How to recognise Cardiac Arrest & call an ambulance
♥ How to perform CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) on an adult & child
♥ How to use an AED (Automated External Defibrillator)
♥ How to recognise a choking adult or child
You will receive:
♥ 2 year (American Heart Association) certification on satisfactory completion
♥ Student Manuals (including CD-ROM) provided to each participant
♥ Defibrillator protocol; i.e. operator activation strategies, post cardiac arrest follow-up procedure, machine maintenance and inspection
We also offer a competitively priced Defribrillator (AED) package with training as outlined above & advice on setting up an AED scheme in you community, workplace, club or school.
This package includes :
♥ A defibrillator which complies with national standards (manufacturer’s service and warranty included)
♥ An alarmed AED cabinet for indoor storage
♥ Croí AED Signage

SUPPORT

♥ Best practice, advice and protocols on setting up defibrillator programs in line with national standards
♥ Ongoing telephone support provided to groups following training
♥  Post cardiac arrest debriefing and follow-up offered to those who respond to real life emergencies
♥ Participation in a programme which is under medical direction by experts from the HSE West including consultant heart specialists
♥ As Croí have links to the HSE, we are in a unique position to gather data from the defibrillator and provide it to the patient’s medical team to help enhance the effective treatment of the patient in hospital
