Testimonials

The work of Croí impacts on people’s lives in a very real way. Here are some stories of the people whose lives have been saved or changed as the result of our ongoing fight against heart disease. If you wish to share your story we would be delighted to hear from you. Email your story to info@croi.ie.

In matters of the heart, none of us can afford to ignore our family history. I should have been more conscious of mine. Both of my parents died young, so, like many others, I am at high risk of suffering a heart attack.

Brenda, 57, from Charlestown, County Mayo, responded to an advertisement for the ‘Croí Heart Smart’ programme in the local community centre.

Aine’s sister Noreen passed away as a result of cardiomyopathy in April 2007, just two days before her 21st birthday and a month before she was due to qualify as a nurse.

John, 66, was referred to the Croí MyAction programme by his GP. He has Type II diabetes as well as high blood pressure and high cholesterol.

Teresa, 61, from Kilrooskey Co Roscommon, went for a girls spa weekend to celebrate the upcoming wedding of her daughter Aisling in July 2008.
