Overview

The work of Croí could broadly be summarised as supporting and developing initiatives across all areas of cardiac health care, both in-hospital and in the community, with the prevention of heart disease and stroke being foremost among our objectives.
The focus in the earlier years was on supporting infrastructural enhancements in hospitals throughout the region, but more recently the focus has switched to the Community - supporting projects aimed at preventing heart disease, stroke & sudden cardiac death; providing out of hospital support for heart patients and their families; encouraging community cardiac rehabilitation initiatives and exploring ways of increasing the speed and access to hospital care.

The fight against heart disease & stroke continues however, and Croí is committed to supporting the ongoing developments required to ensure the best possible cardiovascular healthcare for the people of Galway and the wider West of Ireland. We have ambitious aspirations for the future, but once again we must rely on our fundraising efforts and your support.
