The Dublin Marathon is an annual marathon event taking place in Dublin, Ireland. It is normally held on the last Monday in October, which is a public holiday in Ireland. Held each year since 1980, the event has grown each year with approximately 15,000 participants in 2014.
Internationally known as the ‘Friendly Marathon’, the 37th Annual Dublin Marathon takes place on the October Bank Holiday: Sunday 30th October 2016. The course terrain is generally flat. It starts at Fitzwilliam Square in the city centre and finishes at Merrion Square. The route meanders through the Phoenix Park and along the historical Georgian Streets of Dublin where thousands of spectators line the streets to cheer you on every step of the way.
