The NIPC is an affiliate of the National University of Ireland (NUI), Galway and collaborates in a number of postgraduate programmes in its goal to produce a new generation of scholars and leaders in cardiovascular health and disease prevention. The Masters in Preventive Cardiology is the only one of its kind in Ireland and is delivered in a unique community partnership with the heart and stroke charity Croí, the West of Ireland Cardiac Foundation. This blended-learning programme includes a taught element within the Croí Heart and Stroke Centre, allowing students to gain knowledge of, and experience in, the theory and clinical application of evidence-based preventive cardiology practice.
In a partnership with the Discipline of Health Promotion, the NIPC supports a one year Postgraduate Certificate in Health Promotion - Approaches to Cardiovascular Health and Diabetes Prevention and contributes to a range of other programmes within the College of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences.
